My Journey and Mission

My mother has been my greatest inspiration and mentor. Throughout my life, we have shared an innate calling to help others. I am proud to have followed in her footsteps, becoming both a Registered Nurse and the owner of a home healthcare agency.
When I was 17, my life changed in an instant. I was in a car accident and run over by a 1994 Suburban. Miraculously, I survived with only a broken hip and pelvis, and several deep wounds. After spending about a week in the hospital, I woke up one morning overwhelmed — unable to breathe, surrounded by the smell of dead flowers and walls that felt like they were closing in. All I knew in that moment was that I needed to get out. My mother, determined as ever, convinced the hospital staff to let me come home. She even managed to secure a hospital bed so I could recover safely. That is who my mother is.
I will never forget the comfort I felt as I was wheeled through my own front door. Being in my familiar space allowed me to finally focus on what mattered most: healing. That experience left a profound impact on me and shaped the way I view healthcare.
As a nurse with a background in neurology and home health, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside patients and families during some of their most challenging times. I’ve seen how life can change in a single moment. During these transitions, I noticed a critical gap: patients often struggle when moving from the hospital back to their homes. Too often, without proper support, they end up in long-term care facilities or back in the hospital.
I founded Alyda Home Health in 2008 to bridge that gap. Our mission is to help patients remain in their homes, maintain independence, and live with dignity. I’ve witnessed firsthand how powerful home care can be. Patients thrive in familiar surroundings — depression lifts, appetites return, and their overall health and quality of life improve.
Building this company has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. None of it would be possible without our incredible staff and hardworking providers, whose dedication inspires me every day.
